Valentine Day Cookie Recipe

These cookies make a great Valentine Day gift, or a stunning addition to a cookie tray. These jam filled cookies look yummy, and don’t disappoint in taste.
Ingredients:
3 cups flour
1 cup softened butter
5 eggs (yolks only)
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cup strawberry preserves (seedless)
You will also need two heart shaped cookie cutters, one a little larger than the other, or other cookie cutter shape as long as you have 2 with one slightly larger.
Mix the flour, egg yolks, sugar, butter, and vanilla together until it forms a soft dough.
Let the dough chill for at least 30 minutes.
Roll out the dough on a floured surface, until it is about 1/8″ thick for best results. Use the larger cookie cutter to cut out a shape for the base, then cut a second shape with the larger cookie cutter, and use the smaller cookie cutter to cut out the center of the shape, to make the top of the cookie.
Preheat your oven to 350`F. Put the cookies on an ungreased baking sheet and bake for ten minutes. When the cookies have cooled put jam in the center of the bottom cookie, and place the cut out cookie on top.
