Mega Bloks sent us the Blok Squad Police Force Pursuit building set to review, so I took it along to one of our holiday parties for the kids to help me put it together. My nephew was a dedicated helper, and several others helped with different parts of the construction.
When we first started the vehicles looked like this.
We started through the step by step instructions.
Things started to take shape.
It took us a little while to get the boat and trailer done, but then we were on a roll!
My niece kidnapped some of the Mega Bloks to make a cute bug.
We did get all of the pieces put together, and they turned out very nice. There were even stickers to add in the details.
The Blok Squad series of buildable playsets introduce kids to everyday heroes with themes such as fire patrol, police, and construction.
My helpers were all different ages, from 5 to 13 and both boys and girls. All of them had fun putting the Mega Bloks together, but the 13 year old had the longest attention span to help from start to finish.
The sets are recommended for children 5 and up, and are not recommended for children under 3 because they contain small pieces that may be a choking hazard. Younger children will probably need an adult to help them get through the diagrams to put the sets together. Older children will be able to put them together on their own.
My son is 12 and he still enjoys putting these building sets together, but the older he gets the more complex he likes them.
The Mega Bloks Blok Squad Police Force Pursuit building set was fun to put together at our family gathering. It would make a great activity for a party, or a wonderful gift idea for children 5 and up who are ready to move on from the larger mini blocks.
