I don’t know about your area, but here school is out for the summer, and the temps are warming up! I’m always on the lookout for good kid’s summer treat ideas, especially frozen treat ideas for my son, it’s even better yet if they can include a little nutrition in the form of fruits or vegetables.

We are Naked Juice fans at our house, so I was excited to hear about their two new Power Garden flavors, Tomato Kick and Berry Veggie. Of course we had to give them a taste test! The Berry Veggie is my fave, it has the sweetness of the berries in there with the tartness of the veggies. Yum! My son even gave it two thumbs up.

We’re also big ice pop fans at our house, I like to make my own so I can include quality ingredients. When I heard Naked Juice was having a Pinterest recipe contest, I knew I had to try the new Berry Veggie in my smoothie ice pops recipe! They turned out delicious, so I’m excited to share the recipe to this fabulous kid’s summer treat that’s sure to be a hit for your family too! You don’t have to tell them they’re getting their fruits and veggies in while they’re eating it. That can be our little secret!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Berry Veggie
  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup strawberries
  • 1/2 cup blueberries
  • 1 ~6 oz container Greek yogurt

Instructions:

Step 1: Place all the ingredients in a blender. Pulse the blender until all the ingredients are blended smoothly. There may be some small chunks from the fresh fruit, but there shouldn’t be any large chunks.

Step 2: Pour the mixture into individual Popsicle molds. The mixture should fill about 8 medium size molds. Insert the Popsicle sticks that came with the mold, or wooden sticks if you have them. You can also use small paper cups and lollipop or wooden Popsicle sticks to hold the mixture.

Step 3: Place the ice pops in the freezer, so that they are level. Freeze for a couple hours, or until solid.

Step 4: Run the molds under warm running water and gently lift the sticks to release the pops. If they won’t release, run them under the warm water a little more. Enjoy this fun kid’s summer treat on a hot summer day in the back yard!
