Fast and Easy Patriotic Scrapbook Layouts

by Linette

Since the 4th of July is coming up fast, I thought I’d round up a couple fun and easy patriotic red white and blue scrapbook layouts to share. For those cute kids waving the flag, that photo with the flag in the background, or maybe it’s for some vintage patriotic photos you’d like to showcase. Here are a few patriotic scrapbook layouts my sister and I have done over the years.

First up here’s one with a piece of flag scrapbook paper as a backdrop. Very fun, and super easy! Look at your local craft store for this or you can find it on Amazon here: American Flag Scrapbook Paper (unfortunately the shipping is a little high on this one).

The star scrapbook paper on the opposite page tie the two pages together nicely, and the solid background at the top helps to balance everything out.

When my son was a baby I laid him on some flag fabric and took some photos, these worked really well with a red white and blue scrapbook layout. Here’s the double page layout featuring the patriotic photos.

I used a combination of reds whites and blues with small pattern prints for my backgrounds. I double mounted most of the photos, and cut squares for the “wood block” BABY in the center of the page. I cut a little larger square to back them with to give it that 3 dimensional look. I cut the letters out with my Cricut, but you could use pre-cut letter stickers instead. I used red and blue paper ribbon to go through the center. Most of the paper and the ribbon was from Creative Memories Cheerful scrapbook set. I just mixed and matched other papers in with it.

Here’s a closeup of the flag photo page. Never mind my hair in that photo! I don’t know what I was thinking that day!

I have one more patriotic-red white and blue layout to share with you. This one uses vintage photos. I love scrapbooking with vintage photos! It’s so fun to look back, and to wonder what was going on in the person’s life when the snapshot was taken. This one uses a deeper red, and a lighter blue color to give it that vintage look. It’s also mixed with tans, instead of white to keep everything looking older.

I hope these fun and easy patriotic scrapbook layouts will help and inspire you when you’re creating your own!

I love seeing other people’s scrapbook pages and I like the clean style you used on these pages. Not overly cluttered, so the pictures shine and tell the story.

Online books are faster, but I still love to sit down with the photos and do it the old fashioned way sometimes!

These are great ideas for the fourth of July, thanks for sharing! I have never gotten into scrapbooking, mostly because I am a perfectionist with OCD tendencies and I think everything needs to be perfectperfectperfect, and of course that makes me think I won’t be able to pull it off and it will just end up being more frustrating than fun and/or cathartic.
