Curious George: Follow That Monkey Review

I finally got to sit down and watch Curious George: Follow That Monkey last night from start to finish. I saw parts of it the other day while my son was watching it, but last night the whole family sat down to check it out.

Ted (The Man in the Yellow Hat) is up for a promotion at the museum, but seems to have his priorities mixed up. Curious George of course gets himself into trouble by befriending an elephant in a magic show. When George and the elephant disappear, the Ted is also in trouble for kidnapping. All three end up on a cross country adventure that helps Ted remember what’s important in life.

It’s a really cute movie for kids. My son watched it for the second time last night. He’s been begging to watch it again since he watched it the first time a few days ago.

There was only one scene that worried me a little. When Curious George and a child were jumping out of the hay loft. We live on a farm, and I wouldn’t want any child to think jumping out of a hay loft is a safe thing to do. Kids like to copy things, so you may want to talk to them about that scene. There’s also a scene where someone jumps out of an airplane without a parachute on, I just worry about encouraging kids to jump off of anything! Some don’t need any encouragement in that direction.

Over all I would definitely recommend the movie it’s really fun to watch in typical Curious George style, and it’s a very good movie for children to watch, sending out the importance of family and relationships.

I have a whole stash of DVD’s and other goodies stacked up on my bookshelf, so instead of taking up space I decided I would start passing them along to Kid’s Fun Review readers. I’m going to start giving away one prize per week until the stack goes away. First up is a new Barney DVD just in time for Easter, it’s Barney: Egg-cellent Adventures.

Celebrate The Wizard Of Oz 70th Anniversary

Every time I watch the Wizard of Oz it transports me back to my childhood. It was one of my favorite childhood movies, I think Toto was my favorite character, and I remember hating the wicked witch and those aweful monkeys.

It’s hard to believe The Wizard Of Oz is having it’s 70th anniversary this year. They’re celebrating with a The Wizard of Oz 70th Anniversary Ultimate Collector’s Edition it’s a digital copy and an exclusive set of 4 collectible 8×10 character posters (from Amazon only).

It would make the perfect birthday, or Christmas gift for the die hard Wizard of Oz fan. While your at it plan a Wizard of Oz party and invite your friends over to celebrate 70 years of a family classic. I’ll be back with some Wizard of Oz party ideas.

Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer Review

We went to see Fantastic Four for Father’s day, and I have to say Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer is Fan-tabulous. My son says it’s “the awesomest movie we’ve seen this summer.” He wanted to stay and see it a couple more times.

Finally a movie that lives up to the hype. F4 has some Fantastic special effects, a little romance, and tons of action.

A great movie from start to finish, if you are going to spend your cash to see a movie this summer, so far this is the movie to see. We’ll see what the rest of the summer brings.
