Shrek The Final Chapter Party Ideas and Supplies

Whether you call it Shrek Forever After, or The Final Chapter, this is the last time you’ll see the green ogre and his pals on the big screen. Even if you can’t get to the theater, you can celebrate the premiere of Shrek at home. The Shrek Forever After Party Supplies have been out for a while now so what are you waiting for start planning!

We’re big Shrek fans at our house! I’ve put together some Shrek Party Ideas before, but I thought I’d put together some new ideas in honor of this last Shrek Movie.

Make some Swamp Nog with one container of lime sherbet ice cream, 1 pack green Kool Aid made to package instructions, and a 2 liter of 7Up. Mix the Kool Aid and the 7Up in a punch bowl. Right before the party scoop in the lime sherbet ice cream. Yum!
Play a game of swamp tag, pin the tail on Donkey, or “Ogre says.” Just like the original versions of freeze tag and Simon says, just give them a new “Shrek Party” name.

Iron Man 2 Party supplies are here! The latest Marvel comic movie promises to be a summer blockbuster hit. If you’re planning an Iron Man 2 party this summer I have a few party ideas to share with you.

Looking for Iron Man party activities?

Since Iron Man will be a summer movie, if you’re not heading out to see the movie itself for your party, take the fun to the back yard. Get some water guns and have your own Iron Man battle outside. The kids will have a blast. You can even fill water balloons to add some water bombs to the mix.
Since Tony Stark (Iron Man) is an inventor, divide the children into teams, and give each team several materials, including cardboard boxes, aluminum foil, paper towel rolls, fabric scraps, construction paper, and other recycled items and challenge them to come up with the best invention. You can let a couple adults pick at the end of the contest, or tell them they’re all winners.
You can also give them construction paper and markers, and let them make their own Iron Man or War Machine mask. See who can come up with the best mask to win a prize. Then let them take their masks home after the party.
You can also incorporate some of the other Marvel comic book heroes in your party, with a costume contest, or a relay.

Toy Story 3 is coming to the big screen this summer, and I can’t wait to check it out! My son and I are both big Toy Story fans so I’m sure we’ll be there opening weekend!

Toy Story Invitation Ideas

If you’d like to create your own Toy Story invitations, you could either make them the shape of a spaceship for Buzz, or the shape of a cowboy hat for Woody. Better yet make some of each.
You can also visit the Toy Story website and print some of the characters to add to your invitations.

Make a Toy Story 3 Banner

You can make a Toy Story party banner. Take a piece of clothesline and clothespins and string them across where you want your banner. Then draw or write your birthday message on paper to look like children’s art strung across a daycare.

Toy Story 3 Party Game Ideas

Since Toy Story 3 is set in a daycare, plan a daycare scavenger hunt, by planting items around the room or yard that children might find in a daycare, or related to the Toy Story movie. Make a list of the items to find and break the children into teams.
Let them work together in teams with Toy Story 3 Legos to create a Lego masterpiece.

My son is counting down the days to the premiere of How To Train Your Dragon. We’re thinking about inviting some friends along to go see the movie and planning a How to Train Your Dragon premiere party.

Bright and Colorful Polka Dot Party Ideas

Polka dots make a really fun party theme, or you can use polka dots to brighten up any kids party theme. I thought I’d put together a list of my favorite polka dot party supplies and ideas.

A polka dot cake or cupcakes are super simple. Just use a round cake decorating tip to put the dots on your cake. Let the dots dry a little, then use wax paper flat over your fingers to carefully flatten them into polka dots on your cake or cupcakes.

First up, I love this colorful Oversized set of 3 Paper Party Lanterns they would make beautiful decorations for a polka dot party.

Twilight is huge as a party theme right now. Many teens and tweens are Edward and Bella fans, so I thought I’d put together some fun Twilight birthday party ideas to help them celebrate. Twilight New Moon makes a great theme for a birthday party, or this time of year you could even throw a Twilight New Moon Halloween party for all your friends.

Twilight New Moon Party Supplies

Twilight games and activities:

Have your guests divide into two teams for a game of Twilight baseball.
Plan a search for Bella treasure hunt, with clues leading your party guests to Bella.
A Twilight Scavenger hunt with items from Twilight or New Moon. Some Twilight scavenger hunt ideas might be, and apple, a copy of the Twilight book, a baseball, or baseball glove, a Twilight doll, a candle (unlit of course), a red heart, or a tube of red lipstick.

Twilight party decorating ideas:

Use plenty of reds, blacks, and dark slate grays.
Candle light and tiny white lights would look fabulous.

Tween Birthday Idea~ A Bowling Party

Tweens and teens will enjoy a good bowling game, and the upside is you won’t have 10 kids roaming around your house bored with whatever games you came up with to play at a birthday party.

When you take them bowling you’ve got all their energy channeled on the game, and chatting with each other.

The best part is, most bowling alleys also have food, many have pizza. Most also have at least one party room where you can gather to eat, talk, give out favors, and unwrap gifts after the bowling game is finished.

You can make your own invitations in the shape of a bowling pin, or bowling ball. Make them out of brightly colored construction paper. Print your party information on a small square of white paper, and glue it to the center of your pin, or ball invitation.

Top off your party with brightly colored Bowling Party Supplies, and a Personalized Bowling Birthday Banner.

The kids will have a blast, and you won’t have a house to clean up afterward. Call your local bowling alley to see what kind of birthday package they can offer you. In my experience it’s cheaper than most other venues for a birthday party. Our local bowling alley charges so much per child, but you don’t have to rent the party room, it’s included in the per child charge.

The price includes bowling, shoe rental, and the party room. For an additional charge you can add pizza and pop. It was a very easy party, we just brought in the cake.

Transformers Revenge Of The Fallen Party

Transformers Revenge of the Fallen hits theaters next Wednesday, and if your child has a summer birthday it’s a perfect excuse to take the birthday boy or girl and a group of friends to see the movie.

There is tons of stuff out there to help you plan a Transformers birthday party, including a Transformers Deluxe Party Pack with everything you need for a great party in one box, unique Transformers party invitations and VIP passes, and Transformers party favors.

You don’t need too many game ideas if you’re going to see the movie, but you could take the children to a nearby park before or after the movie and play Transformers tag, or take the party back to your house and set up a treasure hunt to find “the cube.” With clues left in strategic places for the teams to find.

If you don’t want to purchase invitations you can make your own invitations shaped like a Transformers mask.

Some ideas for sayings on your Transformers invitations:

For a Transformers birthday craft save some medium size boxes and cut holes in the tops and sides for arms and heads to fit through. Let the kids decorate their box like their favorite Autobot or Decepticon.

Bears and Bees or Winnie The Pooh Birthday Party Theme Ideas

Bears and bees would make a really cute first birthday party theme for kids. I made a really cute cake for a party this weekend with a honey bear, a bee skep, and some bees floating above the cake on wires. It turned out really cute. Here are the complete instructions for making the bear and bees cake.

This cake would combine very nicely with the Love Bug Theme from Birthday Express or even a smaller cake, with just the bee skep would be fun for that theme, or a creepy crawly bug party. Can you tell I’m ready for spring?

You could also make the bear a lighter honey brown color, and it would make a great Winnie The Pooh cake, for a Winnie the Pooh themed birthday party. Just combine the cake with some Pooh’s 1st Birthday Party Supplies, and you’ll have a party.

Mini Palm Tree Pinata Beach Party Decoration

I just saw these, and I think they’d be adorable for a beach party, or luau. They’re called Mini Palm Tree Decorator Pinatas . You can use them for table decorations, or hang them up. When the party’s done send one home with each of your guests. Each palm tree stands about 8″ tall.

You could fill them with candy, or small toys, or let your guests fill their own at a candy buffet.

Peter Pan Party Ideas

A co-worker’s daughter is a big Peter Pan fan. Peter Pan party supplies are very hard to find. Here are a couple things you can do to incorporate the Peter Pan theme into your birthday party.

1. Have all the children make Peter Pan hats with green construction paper, and a feather.

2. Use green streamers and balloons to decorate.

3. Use green colored napkins, cups, and plates.

4. Top your cake with this Disney Peter Pan Figure Set. Then the birthday boy or girl will have it to play with after the party.

You can also incorporate the other Peter Pan characters with
Tinker Bell Fairies party supplies for girls or Pirate Party supplies for boys.

Here’s a simple treasure chest cake idea, it would work great for a Peter Pan party.

Ice two chocolate cakes, and layer them together with chocolate coins, gold, and silver wrapped candies sticking out from between the layers, and sprinkled around the edges of the cake. Add icing handles, and leather straps by cutting strips from rolled fondant for a realistic, rustic appearance.

Have You Seen The Singing Mylar Balloons?

I think these are so cool! My son loves the singing birthday cards, now they have singing mylar birthday balloons. I think the kids will love these (adults- not so much, especially after the hundredth time it’s played).
Birthday in a Box has the Hannah Montana Sing A Tune Mylar Balloon, it plays “Best of Both Worlds,” and High School Musical Sing A Tune Mylar Balloon, it plays “We’re All In This Together.”

I hope they come out with some others.
