Here are some food links for your weekend reading. Happy cooking! We’re off to the fair. My son’s in 4-H so most of our week will be spent at the local county fair. I hope to find some delicious food inspirations there to share with everyone.

I’m always challenged to come up with something for supper during the summer, Cyndi at Busy Family Meals has a solution with, two weeks worth of summer menus.

You all know I love cooking with kids, About Cooking For Kids has a yummy recipe for corn chowder that brings together all the best flavors of summer. Enjoy it with a hunk of French bread and a green salad. Yum!

Robust Cooking has, a recipe for, Chicken Skewers on Watermelon and Feta Salad, a tasty way to celebrate National Watermelon Month.

Kid’s Birthday Fun shares that making your own cupcakes for a birthday party doesn’t have to be complicated, just add sprinkles for cupcakes kids will love.

Here at She Knows Parties I featured a recipe for artichoke and bacon spread, to make a delicious, quick appetizer for your next party.

Since everyone’s buzzing about the Olympics, Light the Torch has some fun and tasty recipes for your Olympic party.

Today’s Spinach Español Recipe from Jean at Ageless Beauty is a side dish and features the following Sonoma Diet powerhouse foods: spinach, olive oil and raisins.

Sunday Party Planning Links

birthday party I haven’t done a link post here for a while. There have been some great party posts this week. I thought I’d share some weekend reading with you.

She Knows Parties has 10 fun party favors you can make yourself.  She has a list of fun inexpensive party favors you can make for your next birthday party.

Birthday Parties and Themes has a horse cake idea made by her daughter. There are step by step instructions, and it’s a really cute cake for a horse theme birthday party.

Shindigz! has some really cute Mother’s Day party ideas, that would also work well for a summer garden tea party.

Janet at Kid’s Birthday Parties has fun favor and activity ideas for a Ben 10 birthday party.

If you’re looking for ideas for a Webkinz theme birthday party, check out this post by Deb at Mom of 3 Girls. Her daughter was invited to a Webkinz party and she shared some of the fun Webkinz party ideas they used there. I love the Webkinz World theme games, but I think my favorite part is the Webkinz bedrooms they made out of shoe boxes. The kids could purchase party favors with Kinz cash they’d earned during the party. She has some great photos, and details from the party. So cool!

Have a great week!
