I’ve been playing with clipix for a couple weeks now. I’ve had a blast clipping some of my favorite websites and ideas all in one place. Clipix is a fairly new social bookmarking site that lets you “clip” the things you want to keep track of to organized clipboards. The boards look like this one I made for kid’s birthday party ideas:
I also have one for cupcake flavors! Yum! I combined the two into a Multi Board for party planning, check it out:
I love the multi board feature! You can take related boards and group them together for larger projects, like party planning, or wedding planning. You can have a board for food, the cake, decorations, games, and more! You can group them all together just by grabbing and dragging with one click.
It’s not just for party planning! There are tons of things you can use clipix for:
- Keep track of your favorite recipes
- Bookmark your child’s Christmas wish list
- Create a list of craft ideas
- Plan for the holidays
- Bookmark books your kids want, or books you want to read
- Save your favorite home decor ideas for that big remodel
- Clothes for you or the kids
- Plan your friends baby shower
We’re getting ready to plan a 2 week family vacation. I think I’ll bookmark some hotels and destination ideas.
In addition to the ability to create Multi Boards clipix has a ton of other really great features including:
- It’s super easy to add a “clip” button to your tool bar. When you want to clip something all you have to do is press the button.
- The description automatically pre-fills with the title and where the clip came from. You don’t have to type it in if you want to leave it the same. You do have the option to change it if you want.
- There’s an iPhone app, so you can take your clips with you on the go. If you’re having a party planning session with friends, you can show them all the ideas you’ve bookmarked right from your phone!
- While you’re clipping you can share your clips with your friends through Facebook or Twitter at the same time if you want to.
- You can sign up with your email address, or use your Facebook or Twitter profile.
- You can share your clips with everyone, or keep them private or friends only. I love this feature!
