Trying To Plan A Webkinz Birthday Party?

Published by Linette under Party Themes

Webkinz themeThere’s not much out there directly related to Webkinz ™in the party area. That doesn’t have to stop you from having a Webkinz birthday party. Just plan your party theme around your favorite type of Webkinz.

If your child likes the tree frog, you can plan a creepy crawly theme for your birthday party. If your child likes the beagle, poodle, or collie Webkinz give your party a dog theme. Other party themes that might work include, a unicorn party, a jungle party, or a cat themed party.

You can make up activities based on the Webkinz website activities. Give the children a “job,” play a trivia question game, or have a gem search.  Have a dress up relay, or plan a scavenger hunt.

Create animal shaped invitations, or use animal shaped rubber stamps to decorate plain cardstock for your invitations.

Use animal shaped cookie cutters to make animal shaped sandwiches, or cookies for snacks. You can give charms, or Webkinz clothes for party favors, or make an animal related craft project.

Children’s New Years Eve Party Activities

Published by Linette under Holidays

catch phraseWhat can the children do at your New Year’s Eve Party? Here are some great New Years Eve activities for children. You can have a couple older children be in charge of the children’s activities, or have the adults take turns supervising.

Play pin the diaper on baby new year. Find a large poster board, and draw your best version on baby new year. Blindfold the children and have them stick the diaper in the correct spot on baby new year.

Have a dress baby new year contest. Have a couple dolls, and have the children race down and dress the dolls, the next person races down and undresses. They continue dressing and undressing until the last child has a turn. The first team done wins.

Have a New Year’s Eve scavenger or treasure hunt. Have the children hunt for a list of items you’ve hidden around the room or house.

Have the children make crowns or tiaras to wear while they’re ringing in the new year.

Have the children each bring something to put in a time capsule to be opened next New Years Eve.

Set up puzzles and board games around the room for the children to play. Some fun party games include: Twister Moves , Apples to Apples Party Box Edition, Scene It? Disney Edition DVD Game, Hasbro Electronic Catch Phrase - Music Edition.

You can also play musical chairs, name that tune, or many other old game favorites. You may also want to schedule some down time for the children to free play, and visit with each other.

Race Car Cake Idea

Published by Linette under Birthday Cakes, Party Themes

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
This cake is simple but it makes a great cake for a race car theme.

How to Make This Race Car Cake
Use two cake pans one about 1/2 the size of the other to make the base and top of the car. You can cut the top cake down, and also cut some angles in the cake if it doesn’t look like the proper shape to make the top of the car.

Ice the whole car with the color of icing to match your favorite race car.

Use a Hershey chocolate bar for the front windshield.

Add round chocolate cookies for the front wheels, and doughnuts for the back racing wheels.

Use graham crackers for the spoiler, ice them to whatever color you like. Use smaller graham cracker pieces for the base of the spoiler, and attach the spoiler to the car with icing.

Use a writing tip to pipe icing for the number on the front of the car, and another for the door.

Yellow candies make the headlights, you can also use red candies to make tail lights.

Don’t forget to add the candles!

Christmas Classic Movie Viewing Party

iStock 000002162866XSmallHave you thought about having a holiday movie party this Christmas season? There are so many Christmas classics out there it would be hard to narrow down the movies you’d want to show.

Think up some movie related decorations, games, and snacks to match the movies theme. The party can be just your own family, or invite the neighborhood.

Here are a few ideas to get you started.

Make Polar Express Hot Chocolate

Make a Christmas Story Leg Lamp, or bumpus hound floppy ears.

Have a Christmas Story bundle up relay.

Play Grinch tag (put a grinch twist on freeze tag)

Rudolph’s flight school- see who can jump the furthest

You get the idea, the games and snacks don’t have to be complex, just name them after the movie your watching. The kids will get a blast out of it.

Birthday Party Activity Basics

Party ActivitiesOne very important thing to remember when you’re planning a children’s party is that most parties don’t go exactly as planned.

Don’t make your activities and plans too difficult. Children don’t like to be bogged down with details. They’ll have more fun with simple games that allow them some freedom, and room for play.

Make your games age appropriate if you have children of different ages make sure you have rules even the younges children can follow without getting frustrated. Older children will generally still have fun with a simpler game but younger children will not understand a game that’s too complex.

All of the play at your child’s birthday party does not have to be organized. Let the children have some “free” time just to socialize, interact and play what they want.
